Debriana Berlin is the Founder & CEO of The Future Reference, an international strategic communications agency advising presidential and gubernatorial candidates, federal agencies and mission-driven organizations.
Previously, Deb headed domestic and international strategic communications for U.S. EPA under the Obama Administration, running the White House think tank, Fortune 100 climate communications, and marketing campaigns to 100 million American citizens. Her work improving accountability for the EPA’s $9 billion budget was awarded with a Public Service Bronze Medal.
Earlier in her career, Deb held senior positions in the London office of Edelman public relations and the Associated Press. For five years, she served as the yoga instructor for the U.S. Senate, occasionally hosting group meditation during active State Department negotiations.
Deb studied globalization’s impact on climate change at the London School of Economics, and holds a master’s degree from Cranfield University in England in environmental business, and a bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University in advertising and public policy. She’s a guest lecturer at USC and UC Santa Barbara Bren School.
